Hi, looking for a suggestion for a GPS that...
-fits in the D3 cubby hole
- has a socket for a reversing camera/av-in
- has power button and other control buttons on the front
- cable/power connectiouns on the rear
- biggest screen possible to fit in the cubbyhole
- at the cheaper end of the market...not a LR item
thx

I've used a Ram mount. This way I can easily remove the GPS (7" and too big for the hole) if need be. All you need to do is mount the Ram ball mount to the inside of the cubby hole. Easy enough with a right angle drill attachment from Bunnings for $30.
What I like about this arrangement is I can still use the cubby hole for storage and I can swivel the GPS to suite.

Me too, but I have not found one yet that ticks all the boxes. I have found that my 5" gps out of my 101 will friction fit into the hole and you can still use the controls on top - I have looked at some 7" versions and they should fit in.

This was my solution, a trimmed down surround panel from a base D4 (Cost $38 from memory) and a VMS 500S, it fits tightly between existing vent panels and I use some duralock (heavy duty velcro) to hold it secured at the bottom. I can still lift it out from the bottom and disconnect power and camera to do map updates etc. I loose about 2mm of the screen across the top of the screen, otherwise it is a perfect fit.
Cheers
Steve
