Hi mate, I see there are no replies to your questions about bull bars. Did you find out an answer to this? I am asking the same at the moment as Im wanting to fit a bar to my 04 disco. Any suggestions?

Not withstanding the fitting issue, there's air bag compliance to consider. Not many D1's had air bags.

Yes they are a direct fit, but as said must be SRS compatible. The Smart bar from a D1 also fits but requires a little of the bottom of the grille 'shaved' off to clear the back of the plastic molded 'channel'.

Yep, Thanks to a roo, the panel beater orderd a new winch bar to my 99 Disco. After getting it back, I thought 'cool', looks a little different, but my previous bar wasnt a winch bar, so didnt think much more about it. A few weeks later i was looking underneath the car & noticed the compliance sticker & saw it was for a D1. It didnt really fit where the bar & front of the grill met (rubbed a little) & the space below the head lights were quite big. He ended up changing it over for me anyway :) as the ARB compliance sticker said it was for a D1. SRS issues aside as the bar was an SRS bar, it did say it was for a D1 only, so I dont know if there would be any legal issues.
Dave.

The d1 was avail until 99, so cataloguing / ordering error was to blame here I reckon. Good to hear they swapped it over though.

Yes, thats exactly what he did, just ordered a 99 bullbar!! Neither he or the ARB guy he delt with asked the question. Although to be fair I couldnt tell the different year model changes on a Patrol or Cruiser etc. But you would think the ARB guy would have confirmed a D1 or D2.
