I had to buy this as its future was not certain, the old chaps family showed nil interest in it .
It has a excellent chassis and almost rust free bulkhead . Has a 53 siamese motor but comes with a spare 1.6 motor
The body has been reskinned in steel !
Great thing is..its not far from me .

Great stuff Mike. Nice to see another one saved from a future of neglect. So it's a '50 like mine. It doesn't look too bad from the few photo's, but I'm looking forward to seeing more. Do you have details of the 1.6 engine? I'm guessing you haven't actually collected it yet.
Cheers

Mike,
Nice one.
She was Dispatched 'In' 20/10/49 and 'Out' 08/11/49 to Regent Motors Melbourne. She was built at Solihull also, not a Regents CKD.

It was worth buying it for the chassis and bulkhead . It does run too.The ring pull setup is still in it . The body is a write off , somebody has attacked it with angle iron and steel sheet. Home made doors !
I missed the 49 model in town here , just recently it vanished . It also had the grill mesh chop done . It's chassis was almost rusted right away and it was just about broken in half !
They are still turning up !

Filling up . Two dodgy characters turned up at the petrol station , selling computers and stereos out the back of a van... they asked but no takers.

The Rover drove onto the trailer under it's own power , the tank had old stale petrol in it. The car hasn't had a decent run for many years , it spluttered and eventually came to life. Hooray !

 Hi Mike

Can someone refresh my memory please?
I would like to see some pictures of the difference between the siamese and spread bore 2 litre motors if possible.
I has been forty years since I was shown and my short term memory isn't as good as it should be. :wheelchair:

Cheers Arthur
