I have purchased a subscription to TOPix and want to save the information.

I cannot see anywhere to download and it is a bit much to print - I have printed to file but my computer does not recognise the file - there is no file type attached to the file.

Any ideas on how to save this information??

Thanks

Garry

TOPIx - TOPIx (http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/content/document/view?id=123962&parameters=highlight%3Drange%20rover%20sport%20wor kshop%20manual)

I am currently printing each section to file in the hope that I can find something later to open them with.

Currently .XPS format but they will not open with XPSViewer for some reason.

I see what you mean.

I can save them as PDF by printing them to CutePDF. They open fine in Acrobat.

I have seen D3 disks but not RRS - I appreciate that there is a lot the same but there is also a lot different.

Thanks Ron - I am slowly printing each section to file in XPS format which is Windows equivalent to a PDF - is a slow process.

I've never had much luck with XPS. :(

I have loaded up a reader and works all OK. Before my subscription ran out I have managed to save 368 sections with about the same to go at another time - it is slow boring work.

Garry,

Download CC PDF from here CC Free PDF Converter - Create CC Licensed PDF Documents from any Application (http://www.cogniview.com/cc-pdf-converter.php)

It's freeware and unlike CutePDF has no watermark.

To use it, you simply select CC PDF as your printer.

As you can see from above I have previously had problems getting onto the Topix website - I could get onto it earlier today and purchased a subscription - price has gone up 60% in two weeks - but now I cannot once again get onto the website from my laptop (Win XP). This is the main computer I use and use the latest version of IE and Firefox - neither will open Topix.

However my PC which has Win 7 on it will open it through Firefox and I can get into the files I want but - when I try to print to file all I get is an error message saying that it cannot find the file:(.

So why will my laptop not open the website but my PC will?

Thanks

Sorted after a lot of mucking around.

Installed a new browser - same issue
Disabled anti-virus same issue
Reset modem - same issue
Disabled Windows Firewall - all fixed.

I have no idea why it picked on the Topix website but is working now.

Garry;

As you have an account on topix, can you lookup this one, and see what it says, it seems to not be in the manual that I can find. I wonder what "renew" consists of.

Coupling unit - viscous fan -renew For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan (26.25.19)
(Section 303-03

Also I am sure most people would be interested in TSB's and other bits and bobs we might not otherwise know about.

Sorry - I only had a one day subscription which has long since expired. All I have is the instructions on how to replace the viscous fan. I am not sure what renew specifically means - I would have thought 'replace' would have been a better description. Maybe 'renew' and replace ha sthe same meaning.

I'm not sure what the question is.

Here's that section of the manual.

Thank you, I was just curious what they meant as the "renew" process.

Seems after reading they mean clean it up.... good information on the removal of the fan shroud, fan, etc. for belt replacement.

Hi All,

Could I ask how much per subscription and how long it lasts

do you need to be a registered car mechanic to subcribe to workshop manual etc.?

Also I tried printing the free owners information but the button would not generate any printing. How did you print yours

thank you

You can subscribe for 1 hr, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or 1 year. Anyone with a credit card seems ok. You can put your VIN in and see the spec of your own vehicle and who sold it to you.
You can subscribe to a single model for a single year model is the cheapest if you only want your own vehicle.
There are three types of subscriptrions.
Service Manual - The workshop manual
Bulletins - Bulletins about fixes issues etc
Diagnostics - Mostly updates to the dealer diagnostic tool.
All three seem to be the same price each. ie

1 hr == 3 english pound ie $4-5
1 month= 20 english pounds ie $25-$30
1 year = 60 GB pound. was $72 from memory.

Prices have increased. 1hr = 5 pounds, 1 Day = 22 pounds.

Prices have increased. 1hr = 5 pounds, 1 Day = 22 pounds.

Last week single model, single year was 8pounds for 24hours. If you wanted one model all years it was 12pounds for 24 hours.

You need to be quite specific on what you want - add more things and the cost goes up.
