Hi All,

This is my first post in this section, just back from Yanchep WA and a spot of beach fishing. Decided to purchase a new rod.

After years of using an old (30+ years:D) 12' rod I lashed out and purchased a Mako 12' 2 part 8-12kg rod and a new Shimano Baitrunner 6500B reel. The idea is that this rod will fit inside my D2 on my trips down to Denmark as well, the other rod lives up at Yanchep.

Will have to see if we can fit in any beach trips this year.:spudniksailor:

Cheers
Ron

Best part was having a fish with dad like he used to do with granddad all those years ago. Now it was my daughter Ella playing on the beach watching instead of me.:D:D:D

Granddad purchased a block at Yanchep when it was first subdivided and passed on to dad, the old asbestos house has been replaced with a conventional 4 x 2. As a kid I remember the smells of the kero fridge, tilly and hurricane lamps and the clanging of the southern cross windmill mast head on the bore. Now there is power, telephone, water and I noticed what looks like a sewage pump station in a new subdivision. Thats progress.

On the weekend I drove alone Marmion Ave for the first time to get there, tis now outer suburbia...
