2000 Model 1.8 Petrol

After having driven approx one K from home, and having just recently stopped at a set of traffic lights, I noticed when braking to make a turn that the brake pedal was heading to the floor......:o

Gave the pedal a couple of quick pumps and it came good. Stopped the car and checked the Master cylinder reservoir and the level was OK, also checked all the wheels for servo piston leaks.

Contined on cautiously, constantly checking the pedal and no furthur instances of soft pedal occured.

I am suspection......Possibly

Shouldn't be air in the system if the level was ok. Could be faulty master cylinder or a faulty ABS modulator.

Well it is a couple of months on since I originally posted up this problem and it has now become evident that the fault is actually with the master cylinder....

Have had a quote for $330 for a replacement part...!!

Any suggestions where I could buy one in Australia at a reasonable price...???

Go to a clutch and brake service, you may be able to get a rebuild kit for it in AUS. if not I found this on UK Ebay 310231751667
