Hi there, have been checkin aulro for a while great site with a helpful community, just had to b part of it. I have owned an 04 d2 Hse manual with no sls for 1yr. To date only things that required tlc were a seized roller rocker which scarred cam lobe and spat out injector plunger (thanks to previous oil of 5w15/ now use 15w40 I'm up nth) . Replaced air mass sensor and some missing latches on Air filter lid. Absolutely love this car , not sure the missus will after doing some mods I have learnt here.

Hey BK good to have another new member onboard, welcome to Aulro.

I'm a relative newcomer as well compared to many and the oldtimers on here know how to make newbies feel welcome, I don't mind admitting that without this website I would not own Land Rovers.

When you get a chance it would be great if you can put up some pics of your D2a for everyone to check out. Especially if your planning on doing some mods, it always looks great to see before and after shots.

cheers,
Terry

Hello BK04.....welcome to AULRO! :D
The guys and gals on here are absolute tops, and I'm confident anything you ask will be answered with/from extremely knowledgable experiences.

Would say see you around, but you're just a little too far away for me to "spot" you!!

Take care, and have fun....

Cheers,

Hi BK04 and welcome to this site.

I have learned so much off these guys since 2007 when I joined the LR fraternity with my standard V8 ES model.

A few significant repairs later, and some not so (like when you need those new shocks and hey presto its now 2" taller) I'm still a massive fan of the D2. Love my car.

How many vehicles tow the rubbish to the tip, then carry the tent and 3 mountain bikes to Vic High Country, take a day trip to Phillip Island with 7 people on board, complete a 4WD training course, then get used for shopping and the school run.

Glad to have you on thr AULRO forum.

Welcome aboard :)

Nice ride ! Is the "no sls" a factory fit (coils), or was it "de-aired" ;P
Is it a 5 or 7 seat ?

The 03/04 models are a cut above. Just plan your upgrades carefully to keep the "wife" factor in check :wasntme:

:rulez: oh ... and there's a rule here. It didn't happen without pictures.

Welcome aboard!

If the crew here at AULRO can make me feel like I know what I'm doing, then that's testament to what a great community it is here! :D

Cheers

Thanks for your kind welcome , my apologies for late reply. "Fluids" The manual box and no sls were requested on purchase I believe, she,s a TD5 7 seat. Excuse my ignorance but what does the "a" denote in the D2a?

Thanks BK.

Neat! A 7 seat HSE with manual transmission and no SLS ... factory fitted (or not :) )

The "a" in D2a is to signify it's a "facelift" model D2 (late 02 thru 04) ... the earlier non facelift models (D2) had the square headlights ... D2a has the drop/pocket headlights.
