In preparation for shipping my RRS to Aus, I'm trying to determine what modifications will be needed for it to pass the compliance tests. One thing that keeps coming up on all the searches I've been doing is the need for 'child restraints' to be fitted in the rear, I've no idea what these are / look like so I can't check to see if it already has them.

Could one of you RRS chaps take a photo of them for me or describe what they look like so I can go check ?

Looking incresingly likely we'll be upping sticks to Melbourne later this year, so I'm in full on preparation mode with the car, the list of jobs is growing by the day

Cheers
Mike

It should already have the metal ring things in the centre of the back of each of the rear seats (ie behind the seat backs). this is all that's needed for fitment of Aust Approved child restraints. Straps on approved child seats go over the seat back and hook onto these rings.

Gawd! We're not getting another Welsh rabbit are we? :p

Luckily, you're going to Melbourne so shouldn't trouble Australia. ;)

Jamo's nailed it Mike. When you get here you may be interested in either the Land Rover Club of Victoria and/or the Range Rover Owner's Club of Victoria.

If you haven't already worked it out by BW's post non-Melbourians are jealous of Melbournians.

Cheshire! Isn't that where they make the worst cheese in the world?

You'll be fine in Melbourne because they're used to being outcasts. ;)

Don't travel too far because the rest of Oz is used to speaking proper. :D

Take Care,
Peter

Cheshire cheese is just fine, at least it's not as bad as that vegemite ****e you lot scoff by the bucketload ;)

I moved away from cheshire about 15 years ago, family are all still there though. My RRS stands out a bit too much there now, it's full of premiership footballers in Overfinch'd ones these days, half of Man Utd lives within 10 minutes of our parents, blummin Wayne Rooney's always taking delivery of yet another Overfinch car

Anyway, looking forward to sorting everything out and getting there, will join these clubs when we're there and hopefully meet a few of you :twobeers:

To I gather, one third of the world population, Friday on TV out of London showed off the ride of choice for Palace Security types.

I noted that following each Rolls or Jag, was a single RRS or FFRR . I cannot say for certain who was riding within, but probably rather capable types.

It was also a RRS that followed a certain DB5 driven by a very lucky young man.

I like the cars, they look a lot better than a D3/D4. His choice of pink decals is a bit to be desired, but look at the guy, he's obviously in I.T.

He might even be a trainspotter.

The pink may not be real.

The comment about the IT guy got me to thinking that about anything can be done to any picture, anytime; hence is it real?

It is not an Overfinch - I saw lots of those on TV, all morning Friday.

Are you kidding? Look on Google... they bling up Rangies for people with too much money, and hardly any taste - that also never take them offroad.

This is what they're _supposed_ to look like - no finches required.

Looks good Gordon. No finches or over finches.
The ATR's look good. My 19"s are still doing well after 25K or so.

Overfinch (http://www.overfinch.com)

Honestly you lot should be more respectful. Overfinch is a great engineering name in the Rangie world, and just because a few metros have blinged it up doesn't mean to say every Overfinch is an eyesore.

Still what would you expect from people outside Melbourne, no appreciation of the finer things in life.

Here is the true meaning of Overfinch.

Am I right in assuming that anything with an Over Finch enhancement is not your regular run of the mill $105000 RRS TDV6. Do they only play with V8's?

Oh, it's pink. His name's Stephen Ireland, premiership footballer for Manchester City at the time he had that RRS. Has a habit of creating hideous cars from nice ones, his girlfriend's Bentley Convertible has to be seen to be believed. I've seen it in Wilmslow, near my parents place and it's truly horrendous.

stephen ireland car - Google Search (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=stephen+ireland+car&hl=en&prmd=ivnso&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=d-S_TZDpOsqb8QPvwZ28BQ&ved=0CBsQsAQ&biw=1251&bih=581)

Overfinch used to be the place to have large US V8's shoehorned into Range Rovers. They went bust earlier this year and were taken over, now it's predominantly bling rimz & bodykits, but with some engine mods as well. Some of the stuff they turn out is stunning it has to be said.

Stephen Ireland should be made illegal. I looked at the Google link and well -- and I hope he remains forever good at football; somehow I do not think he will every host a car show - unless it is his own.

I had never heard of him here in the great white north - my loss I guess.;)

In spite of the facts, I continue to prefer to think that it is all Photoshop. Well at least he does not solely pick on Land Rover.

If I was the his car customizer, the arrangements would certainly be CIA, Cash In Advance.

Hmmm. With all those deciduous trees, I doubt that photo was taken in Sydney. Perhaps Melbourne. ;)
