Hi guys.

Anyone know where I can get an aerial bracket that will mount out of the front grill of a D4?

Or for that matter, a bracket made for the D4 that will fit anywhere else?

Cheers.

Have you considered an on glass antenna.

I have one on my D3 and it works well.

I should have given a bit more info....

I want to mount this UHF aerial on the new D4 which doesn't have a bullbar.

Hi White D3, there is a bracket made just for the D4. it's a bonnet mount made from marine grade stainless easy to fit quality product from a guy in Mittagong NSW, found it after a search on this web site.

The web site is Home Page (http://www.labtronx.com.au) I have this fitted to mine works great.

Thanks Duke. His web page isn't playing the game today but I'll make contact with him and see what he's got.

Here are two I made myself.
The first one (white) I have used for a home made sand flag with an old style CB connector attached.
The second is more complex to fabricate but is very solid for the UHF aerial.

yes I noticed that too, he's changed his web site since I bought mine the links seem to do nothing try calling him as you've said.

The bracket mounts via bonnet hinge bolt, was very easy to install and remove if you don't want it attached all the time.

The second one looks good, is it made of Aluminium? and how did you get the step in it?

Being so long from the mounting point does it vibrate at speed?

Love your work Peter. Ditto the question of vibration on the one mounted above the headlight.

Hi all

There are compliance issues for pedestrian safety about forward protruding brackets on vehicles. The bracket from Leigh at LAB works really well. My UHF aerial is mounted passenger side and it took me less than 5 minutes to put it on.

He also makes a heavy duty bracket for drivers side mounting to carry sand flags etc. When mounted drivers side the bonnet still opens and the mounted object remains clear of snorkel/raised air intake.

I have posted the brochure previously with his contact details but as I am posting from phone can't put link through sorry.

Cheers

Dom

It is made of 4mm stainless and the step is a cut and weld job. Quite fiddly to do but I am happy with the result as it does not vibrate at all.:)

Yes, I had to ring LAB in the end but the the bracket turned up on time, as advertised. Seems very solid. Simple but well made.
