I bought one of the Aldi inspection cameras (endoscope) yesterday. They are a video camera on a long flexible arm with a video screen in the handpiece. It will take video as well as still pix and save them internally on an SD card or display the images on an external monitor or PC. Price $99.
The light in the camera head is a tad bright so it sometimes overexposes.
See ALDI - special buys from thurs 05 may - hurry, limited stocks in store* (http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_17777.htm)
I'll save some images later on and post them here. I have yet to see if the camera head will fit through a spark plug hole.
P.S. for those who are asking, I didn't buy it, Elisabeth did so it will probably not be faulty.

Hmmmm - I had a medical procedure earlier in the week - by the feel of it they must have used one of these Aldi products.

I've had the same things a couple of times Garry, endoscopy and colonoscopy.
The blew me up like a balloon the last time with the endoscopy and I horse and carted so loud after that patients waiting down a long corridor heard me!:o
And the cook blushed.
I do like to bring a smile to peoples faces.:D

bought one for dad....
does the job nicely, the heads a little larger than the one on the jaycar one (http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QC8710&keywords=inspection&form=KEYWORD). so its a little bulky for some of the jobs I need it to do...
But for the average user its better than the jaycar one because it can capture the image, capture video, output to TV and output to a PC.
for those that count the tech stuff the spec on the camera is about the same as the jaycar one but the jaycar one is 9mm in diameter and the aldi one is about 13.

My local was totally out of them! Or they had the sign up, but hadn't put the stock out yet.
I notice they're only a 1.3MP unit. I'd be really interested what those of you who bought them think of the picture quality as the one I hired recently was waaaay too poor for my task. Which to be fair was duct inspecting, probably a MUCH larger area than they're designed to work in!?

its on par with the quality of my jaycar unit.
its got about a 50 degree view angle on it and my jaycar unit can see the roof in the workshop from the floor (6+m) clearly enough to be able to identify the power cable conduits for the lighting.
its up close that they excel most time mines working at a range thats measured in centimeters.

I've got one - I use it all the time and love it. The wand is a bit stiff and limited in its movement, but I can live with it. The tip is small enough to get down a spark plug hole to peak inside an engine.
