Prior to last week, was starting to think my early days if owning a Defender were viewed through rose colored glasses. Just seemed noisier than normal.
The last week though she's seemed really smooth and much quieter. They're always noisy of course but just seemed a lot better. The only thing I can think of I've changed is that I checked the oil the other day and the dipstick wasn't clicked in all the way home. Unless it was vibrating or something?

mine has a new rattle every other day ,and for mnths it puzzled me,,,,,, but i hav found a few nooks in the chassis ,, particularly behind, rear passenger door where some choice pebbles seem to collect and add to the intermittent cocophany

I gotta say I finally got rid of most of the rattles. This was more just engine noise.

Mine started to get louder... and louder.. and then one day while changing a fuse I realised that a huge chunk of the firewall had rusted out and just fallen off.

I was driving the defender today and there was an annoying squeak so I pulled over and adjusted the passenger and all was good again:D
