I havent, but it is a Sanden 508 compressor, go to the wreckers and pick one up for bugger all. obviously you will need to make the brackets, or see if you can get them from the wreckers as well - a you pull it type wreckers are great for this type of stuff. If you want to run air tools use a 512 and plumb in an air reciever, one from a truck wreckers will work fine.

All you will need to do is drain all of the oil out and replace with a thin mineral or synthetic oil, they do pump oil when filled to the same level as used in refrigeration - so run it until it stops pumping oil undo the drain plug drain say 20ml more out and you should be fine.

I did this with an aluminium York compressor on my old 2 door RR and it went for years was still going strong when I finally sold it.

Hi Hoopsnake,

Currently designing kit to fit TD5 motor in Defender and Discovery. Stay tuned as I should now in a couple of weeks if I have a solution or not. The 300TDI compressor kit are running beautiful in Defenders and Discoveries after a couple of years of testing

Cheers Steve
