Real quick one...

Is it correct that the reverse light switch on a series 3 is exactly the same switch mechanism as the brake light switch on the servo brakes? I've been told it is.

Also, how much current would it be expected to handle? I have a spotlight at the back which has been wired up with the reverse lights on a manual switch, I'd imagine it better to wire this seperately through a manual switch rather than with the reverse lights? Not too sure the legalities of having a spotty on the back that comes on every time you reverse.

Stick the spotlight through a relay and use the reversing switch to activate the relay. Put a switch between the relay output and the light and then you can have it on with reverse or not. If you put in a 3 position switch you could have it on permanantly, off or on with reverse.

Would still use a relay as Ivan mentioned.
