Driving home tonight i was pulled over for a RBT. the officer then asked me to drive forward and park the car. i knew i hadn't been drinking and was starting to worry about some unforseen comlpliance issue with the new tyres etc when to my relief he told me that he had just purchased a D4 and would i mind having a chat with him about them!
turns out he is very hapy with his new car and after a pleasant 10 mins i drove of leaving him with the web address for aurlo.

Personnally I think the Police are under paid, I also don't see it's unusual that one would have a D4.

People thought it was strange back in the pre-child days when I had an SS-V ute..

Hi Petera, had a very similar situation on a trip back from Sydney, just after I bought my 02 RR.
Going through a large country town halfway home and I was waved into an RBT check point.
As the officer walked up to my door, a Sergeant came over and told the officer the sergeant would do this one and for the next 30 minutes we chatted about nothing but RRs as he had a Classic.
After 30 minutes and seeing all the vehicles I had overtaken, going passed me, he told me he better give me the test so I could be on my way.
Always a good felling being on the right side of the law.

Yes apparently you shouldn't be able to afford one ...that is if I read some of the other comments correctly.

I guess from what your saying the NSW's Governor must have stopped paying you guys in rum sometime ago then. ;)

cheers,
Terry

Well I guess its all relative isn't it. I have worked on a few Police IT projects in QLD. There are always exceptions to the rule wise investors or dual incomes or better paid commisioned ranks.
But based on what QLD pay the Police here it would be very unlikely that the average officer would be buying a new D4.

I think QLD are on a different pay scale, as are VIC.. lol that cracked me up, Commissioned, I work for a living, on the street like everyone should be :D. There are other factors like being in Police housing, i'm on call 24/7, don't get on call allowance but pay 3% rent $80 per f/n. An incentive to bring Police from the city to the country. 5 years here of no rent or mortgage except my own investment unit...
