As always my timing hasn't quite worked out but in the mean time I have two LRs to enjoy. Sadly the old D3 looks a bit dated, a bit square, a bit old fashioned, a bit like me perhaps?

Of course the D4 is really not a D4 it is really just a D3 update. The changes from the D3 to D4 are far less than what was in the D1 and all its iterations.

Just a marketing tactic to keep the Americans happy.

Congratulations on the new arrival WhiteD3, I reckon the D4's look excellent in white. Are you planning any mods just yet?

Having driven both D3's and D4's I don't mind admitting the D4's I have driven seem to drive even better than D3's. ;)

cheers,
Terry

I would but there's already a WhiteD4 on the forum, not to mention my GCLRO shirts, etc all carrying the WhiteD3 name.

Yes but they're pending the sale of the D3 for the funds.

Tyres - GY Silent Armour
UHF - Have to sort out the aerial mount.
Cargo Barrier
Rhino tracks for the racks and basket I have.
UPF50 window tinting.
Traxide kit for the dual battery.

Love to do a front bar but I can't justify the expense for what would in reality be an aerial bracket!

Color code, change grill and lights and it's the same isn't it?

Hi WhiteD3,
The photo was obviously taken in QLD..........definately not in Vic.......way too much sun.
Although some may disagree, it is a fact that there are 1100 changes from the D3 to the D4. Having owned both vehicles, I can detect probably 20 maybe.
Hope you enjoy the newby.
Cheers, Craig

WhiteD3, nice addition. I’m interested in your thoughts re UHF aerial as the D3/4 has the same issue I have with my L322 – where to put it??

Love to do a front bar but I can't justify the expense for what would in reality be an aerial bracket! I've seen a few bars ( metal and
painted ) on 4's , but it kills the style imo ....

The ad said over 2,200 improvements. I think they were referring to electrical connector differences but regardless, the ad was quickly pulled.

Actually we who own the 3 are fortunate in that there is a lot of similarity between the 3 and 4. The air compressor is a good example. Land Rover is finally getting the air compressor to last at least four years until after their warranty expires - that helps all of us. At least they do not yet say "sealed for life", with regards to the compressor.

Whatever happened about rear mudflaps on 4's ? Now an option, which I didn't take up given the 3 sets I've broken on the D3.

The huge deficiency with the D4 as pictured is that there is not an AULRO sticker on the back window....:o

Take a look here, UHF Antenna location, for an aerial mounting option that I have found works really well
