Anyone know if there are any galvanisers in Brisbane who don't have a minimum quantity they want to do? A few powdercoaters I have checked with tell me that most galvanisers have $200 - $250 minimum charges, yet I've heard of some on here who send away one or 2 small parts to be galvanised. I want to get a couple of things done and would even consider redoing my ex mil brush bar and bumper if the costs weren't prohibitive. Mainly I want to do an aux fuel filler neck and fittings which is only relatively small and light.

Yellow PagesĀ® | galvanising tinning in greater brisbane qld, Australia (http://www.yellowpages.com.au/find/galvanising-tinning/greater-brisbane-qld)
Industrial Gal is the biggest and most expensive, they are at Pinkenba and Carole Park. They have minimums.
National are at Richlands, their quality fluctuates but never reaches Industrial's ability. Only marginally cheaper than the above.
I have no experience of the few small operators, but IIRC there used to be one near Beenleigh.
Unless you want to gal exposed parts, consider inorganic zinc coating.

Hello.
I realise that your original post is a bit old now, but I am in the same boat now as you were then - looking to get a couple of relatively small parts galvanised (rear bumperettes) and not sure who will do a small job. Preferably cheaply and well.......
I had some tent poles re-galvanised a few years back at a small operation and it simply didn't last any time at all. So, I'm pretty determined to get it done properly. It may be cheaper to buy new ones, but I suspect they only come in painted black now.
Anyway, I was wondering how you finally got on.
Cheers,

Can't help with a particular business in Brissy, but when I wanted a few small parts done I went about it a bit differently. - instead of going straight to the galvanisers, try to find a business locally that uses them and ask if you can throw a few items in with their next load for a few $$$. It used to cost about $1 per kg - not sure what the current rate is, but if you need 5 or 10 kg doing, ask what they want for those bits - you might find they want twice the price, but that is still heaps cheaper than paying for a minimum charge.
I got an large Electrical contractor to take a few bits of mine and put them through with some custom ladder tray supports they had made and were galvanising.
Good luck - Gav:)

Might be worth trying one of the companies that make "galvanized trailers"
Like gav says, they might be happy to throw a few bits in for a small fee.

Go to Industrial Glavanisers, I have had small parts Galvanised and payed reasonable costs, for example, about 3 months ago a small 40 x 40 angle frame about 600 square cost me $85 and took three days.... pretty reasonable i reckon, for and extra $80 i could have had it done overnight

Might be cheaper to FedEx it to the uk, and have it done....

Is it really that expensive here?

Not sure what the costs are now. It used to be $1 per Kg of steel, which is not too bad I don't think, as apart from the small bits I had done, I did a full load once - some 100 x 100 posts I built for the verandah and some associated bits. All up about 105Kg, and they charged me a minimum charge (100Kg - $100).
That was 8 years ago though...

Example 2, The boat trailer for the boat I am rebuilding is about 6.5 meters long, tandem axle multi roller etc etc.... all parts regalvanised about a month ago, $950.00.......... for the result your looking for and the longevity of the product it's pretty reasonable IMO
