Unbelievable stupidity in both vids, was really hoping that patrol would get bogged in the water line.........

WHY WHY WHY????!!!!!

Yet again the minority giving the majority a bad name and giving politicians and greenies all the ammo they need.......

Yeah it appears that it is. It also says wilbinga which is a beach just north of Perth which will be 5kms from where I will be living soon
I will forward this link to the 4wd asscociatin here in WA and see if they can pursue it.
Cant believe the disrespect that some of the younger generation have for things these days and I am not saying all just some.
Blokes like those give the rest of us decent 4wdrivers a real bad name.

The real big difference between how young blokes behave now and how they behaved in previous generations given a chance to muck up is now they record it electronically and broadcast it to the world for all to see.

Young blokes have always done incredibly stupid things when in groups nothing has changed that much over time, that is why history shows us that the late teens and twentys are so dangerous for young men.
I think the majority of us are often guilty of forgetting what we were like when we were young men if we are going to be honest with ourselves.

Having said that after watching the destruction of the Pajero maybe that is why Mitsubishi called those heaps of poo Pajero's in the first place after the Spanish name for tossers, maybe its more to reflect the type of people that buy them.

There is no explaining the kind of stupid behaviour of the Patrol driver. Its a shame his airbags didn't pop, then he might have regretted being so daft because it would have cost him heaps to fix. That is if those heaps have airbags!

cheers,
Terry

Having been a member of the Pajero 4WD Club of Victoria for the last 22 years I find this comment offensive in the extreme.

The Pajero club comprises vehicles from several makes other than Mitsubishi, and the experience of our members shows that Mitsubishi reliability is well up there, and certainly better than later Cruisers, Prado's and Patrols.

As for the membership, it is a friendly, family oriented club, with responsible members, many of which have spent a good deal of their time helping farmers recover, first from the fires of 2009, and then the recent floods. A lot of them drive Pajeros!

Your implication that Mitsubishi drivers are "tossers" puts you pretty much down there with the cretins in the video.

I hope I never have the "pleasure" of meeting you on a trip!

Lionel

Thought I recognised that strip of beach.

If you look carefully you will be able to make out the pootrol rego too.

And they wonder why beach access is slowly being closed down.......

Patrol driver....Need I say more? Bloody hell.....so many LR drivers get there panties in a knot when we are collectively bunched together in some sort of perception. Owning a Patrol has nothing to do with this stupidity......just a case of some **** behind the wheel of one. ******* drive all sorts of makes and vehicles...even LR's.

Thanks for the history lession Lionel your Pajero club sounds like a lovelly club to belong too.

So are you saying that its not correct what I have read on here many times that Pajero translates to tosser?

As for being tossers ...can't say I have ever seen a video clip of Land Rover owners destroying their broken down Land Rover (even though some might feel like it occassionally) ...have you?

If my off the cuff comment offended you well then I apologise, if calling me a cretin makes you feel better then so be it, personally though I do think your being a little bit precious.
As for you not wanting to meet me on a trip well your quite safe there because it is highly unlikely that I will ever own or join a Pajero club. Personally I enjoy owning and driving Land Rovers.

Actually, I think what you meant to say was "unlikely that I will ever own a Pajero, or join a Pajero club". Perhaps if you think before you write, rather than "off the cuff", you won't make such errors, or such over generalized comments as were in your previous post.

Also, though I am a member of the Pajero club in Vic, I have never owned a Pajero, and I am also a LROCV member, having had a Defender since 2004.

Apology accepted, BTW. :)

Hmmm! ...Lionel, might be best to take your own advice about thinking before writing then you can tell others with some credibility what you think they should be doing.

I invite you to reread what I actually wrote and you even quoted. ;)

I've got a theory that Disco afficionados in particular, and LR owners out of tribal loyalty, are actually jealous of the Pajero, because its bigger inside, longer wheelbase, is heaps more reliable, handles better on-road and was first produced when LR could only offer cramped, harsh-riding 1948-designed road & farm 'tractors'... or the overpriced (though very good) Range Rover. Nothing at all for Mr Normal-Income.

But the Pajero filled the gap neatly, with a longer wheelbase, more comfortable, boringly reliable part-time 4WD that could be safely driven at highway speeds and did'nt drink fuel like an American tank...

- Just look at all the differant 'Pajeros' now, Prado, jeep, Navarra, discos 1 & 2....

My '89 Paj diesel is still going strong, and for 2WD stuff I have every confidence that it'll get me there AND back. - Can't feel the same about my 95 Vogue SE Rangie, despite it co$ting me over 5 times the price and a mere 158K's.

Besides, I don't go around corners any faster or better in my 2WD Rangie than my Paj...

Anyway, you'll always see more hoons carving up the beaches in ToyoSans 'cos the LR is undeniably so much softer/better and does'nt go as fast & noisy as they do!

Cheers,

James.

I have read it again.

I don't know of a 4WD club owned by one person! They are usually formed by the mutual coming together of like-minded people, who form a club, register it, frame a constitution, elect office-bearers etc, etc.

I will throw my two bobs worth in here as well.
I can't understand why there was a need to abuse Pajero owners, that was exactly the kind of attitude displayed by those in the vids.

As for the Pajero = tosser comment, ignorant fool, in some spanish speaking countries it is close to a coloquialism of that for sure but it's true meaning is more like "carter of hay" in it's literal form, hard enough to understand I suppose but then it was named by Japanese not Spanish and for all you know may be a japanese word meaning " filling the gap between defender and range rover" I mean for crying out loud if you were trying to sell a car to the world would you call it "******" geez wake up man.

I will also point out that those pajs were so bloody tough, did you note the lack of apparent damage to the door after that pajero - read - tosser, took to it with the shovel. and the tosser who jumped on the roof hurt his legs.

Yes I used to own one, it was my first fourbe and all the tojo and nissan drivers used to knock it and every hill was called Pajero hill because they couldn't climb it but mine did. It was tough, reliable and quite capable for what it was, as someone else pointed out, all the other manufacturers ended up copying it's undercarriage design, even the H3 hummer is a Pajero.

Back to the original track of this thread, what the hell did that inanimate, burned out Pajero do to that moron in the Patrol, he was a man posessed !

God knows what he would have done if it was a Land Rover he came across.

I agree, bushie. I am honestly hoping that kind of behaviour is the absolute minority,in my 3 score years, and a little bit, I have knocked about with some pretty wild boys, but none of them would have that mindset. I'm sure they are one off, and it would be nice to see them get a tap on the shoulder from someone in authority[ a bloody big walloper] to explain to them where they went wrong. As for the discussion about 4wd's, well I have a Rover, but if people want to buy pajero's, or whatever, who cares. Whatever takes your fancy, do your own thing, as long as that thing isn't as antisocial as the morons in the video. Bob
