sigh,,
Mrs Pedro called me from Gatton yesterday arvo,,
The car had started to miss and eventually crawled into Gatton BP and stalled.
No exterior coolant leaks BUT a whole coolant res (I checked before she left) used in 30mins,,,
nothing but oil in the oil,,
again.
4 months since new gaskets.
If it wasnt locked away at the mechanics I believe we would have had a fire sale today,,,

One of my customers is in a similar pickle. I did the head gaskets. He ended up getting some heavy duty stop leak to put in the cooling system. Hasn't let him down and its 6 months later.

yep,, was simple.
broken exhaust valve spring.
top of the piston pock marked so am assuming combustion chamber marked as well.
spring replaced after a leak-down test proved ok.
goes like a bought one.:eek::D:banana::banana::banana:
oil consumption to be advised.
How about spreading the wealth Fluids?????;):p

one of the mysteries of the universe,,
back in the shop the owner thought the apprentice had topped it up and the apprentice thought the owner had,,
after a few blank stares they realised it had just "returned",,,:o

ever since I bought a SILVER one(thanks scouse:p) I go to sleep with that tune playing in my head,,,
mysteries two and three are--
what was the gloop found in the intake runner?
and if the valve still seals,, what made the marks on the top of the piston??

Good enough reason to start collecting parts for the 4.9 Pedro. You can be our guinea pig for those who aspire for more cubes in a disco.
