Any thoughts on a neat way to get the cables into the cab from a tuner mounted on the spare wheel bracket of a D2 ?

The grommet in the door skin that the windscreen washer tube comes through looks like it may be a bit small. :/

drill a bigger hole and use a larger grommet:D

Hehe, cheers. I am not a fan of doing anything irreversible.

Having said that, I suspect the cabling boot between door and body is probably going to be the easiest way into the cabin space that does not compromise dust sealing.

Just need to source the right grommet.. Supplier ideas ?

Unless you are going to take the plug off the end and re-terminate it you are going to have to drill a large hole and fit a grommet. Make sure you go for a size that had grommets and plugs for when you remove it.

Secondly an ATU and antenna (particularly a rigid one) put a lot of additional stress on the standard wheel mount and door. A better option is to fit an after market (chassis mounted) wheel carrier then have the ATU and coaxial cables go directly into the body. Either through the inner panel or up through the floor in the corner near the door.

Also, seeing that it is HF, make sure you add additional earth straps between the door and the body and the body and chassis.
