I know that lots of people have dreamt about, and a few have actually done it, swaping out the standard D2 headlights for D2a units, BUT has anyone had any experience with changing the bumpers over?
My D2 front bumper with foggies has a big hole in the plastic that I'm sure won't pass rego next time. The best thing I can find so far is this D2a bumper in the aulro classifieds.

yes it will fit, even better if you do the headlights and grille as well.

Then it will crack and fall apart like they all do and you will end up getting a aftermarket bar fitted........

Long way back I know.. but how did you go? I'm not ready to do my full bullbar bumper replacement yet but the cracks in my D2 are getting worse; there just happens to be a $50 d2a bumper come up for sale in my locality..

Grab it Michelle. It's a straight swap if I recall, or not at all difficult.
Once I get access to my laptop again, if you shoot me a pm with your email I'll send you through the Alive Tuning PDF about doing the full facelift swap.
I reckon the update bumper on the pre update looks the dogs danglies, especially with the factory light guards

you uld need to trim the bottom of the grille and the lower headlight trims as the d2 bar sits lower than the d2a bar

Yep. Lip off the grill and hockey sticks. 10 minutes with a dremel.

Works a treat! As others said, I simply used a hacksaw along the bottom lip.
I needed it to get through rwc before I found a second hand bullbar. Perfect considering prices of d2 bars!
