Hello,

I have just purchased a 21' Jayco and have a 2008 Puma to tow it with.
Owing to the fuel tank capicity of only 75 odd litres it will need an auxiliary tank fitted.
I believe that they are available and that they are fitted to the ofside rear in front of the the rear wheel, also they are around 45l capacity. I am a mechanic and am able to fit it myself, however has anybody any info on where to buy one.........?

Thanks

I was also looking to fit an auxiliary tank into a 130. For simplicity of fitting and not needing a transfer pump, I had a look at the Dolium 62l item.
Has anyone fitted one of these? Does it leak fumes into the cabin? And,is that the filler that would require the rear door opened to fill through a separate filler neck?

Why not send off an email to Dolium? Indeed, why not ask them if they can supply you with a copy of the fitting instructions? I have found them very helpful. That said, the parts photo shown at Defender 130 Aux Tank 62Lt - Dolium Pty Ltd (http://www.dolium.com.au/Retail_Catalogue_page/FTL45_item.html) seems to show an external filler that presumably would go next to the door and look something like this one on my D90:

Another site to look at:-
Defender1999 ON TD5 (http://www.longrangeautomotive.com.au/products.html?page=shop.product_details&product_id=79&flypage=flypage.tpl&pop=0)

Or this one but they do not sell direct to the public. When I contacted them they kindly replied with info.

Under my Puma 130 tray I have fitted a Poly RV 130 litre tank and a pump which pumps into the standard tank means I have 205l capacity. There are many different shaped tanks it might be worth checking them out.

Another alternative is Mulgo Expeditions, long range tanks that go under the sills.
I have nothing but good things to say about Daniel and the products I've bought from him.

Hi William,
I have the replacement tank that Camper has posted (the first one)
Long range automotive 140 litres. Been in the truck about 4 years

About a day to change tanks over but not difficult.
All pipes and fittings come with the tank.

IMO the change to an all metal tank from the factory plastic one is a better option than an aux. tank.
I have also heard of stones getting between the metal guard and the plastic tank causing wear and holes.

Cheers,
Paul.

I am told you can get a bigger tank that just replaces the OME 130 tank, and by doing this you dont need any other parts, re new pump???

The Mulgo tanks really look the go. I like the idea of keeping them central for vehicle stability. Also the fact they are isolated from each other so one holed, still have fuel.
