Hello all,
I have just put a set of 80" split rims for sale in the markets section.

They are the genuine item.

Just a question,

Do anyone know when these first came out?
were they an optional extra or a standard part(assume extra)

Thats them.

They were usually fitted to vehicles which came with optional 700 tyres new.

Quite a few 49's from Oz seem to have had this option as well ;)

You can almost replicate them by using the Austin Champ inner and the GPW/MB outer.

Better explain....

MB = WW2 Willys Jeep 1941-45 , the early ones had single piece rims.

GPW = The Ford built copy of the Willys WW2 Jeep 1942-45

640,000 produced from memory.

so does anyone have photos of these other rims?

(I like the idea of the genuine item though)
