G'day The ho har's :)

Congratulations ! :D Yup! they sure are a nice ride,:) if it is on Nato 9.00x16s they get a real sing-song up at near 100kph :)and a gentle rocking to and fro motion something to do with, the 9.00's and parabolics,if you fit an engine cover,(one of those bus type upholstered ones) it makes a world of difference, has it still got the carby restricters in it, if so remove them and you will gain a little more power, they were mainly fitted to restrict speed, get the gas going OK ?

cheers,

BTW. I don't go to Muddy's place your way, I go Beenleigh-Tambourine down through Cedar Ck

cool!

so now if you cut about 1' of body off the back, leave the chassis centre
(cut the sides off) and then cut the front guards and replace them with a sloping guard then make it smaller and recess the radiator and replace the windscreen with 2 smaller aero screens and.... oh sorry converting to my dream... :)...

congrats.. how long til on road!

The 101 3.5V8 never had carby restricters. The 24v dissy does have a rev limiting rotor button though.

Yes it was only the stage one V8s that were fitted with restrictors.
AFAIK the 101's engine developed the full compliment of hairy legged horses (156bhp)that the RRCs did.

Mrs hh:angel:

you said earlier it was registered BUT you also said that you drove it around your block, so I was wondering how long til' you take a "bit of a road trip" in it!

well herc went on his first road trip today, around 150K's, he didn't miss a beat but his rear brakes got hot so new lines this week;)

hh is confident to take herc to Bundy around 400 K's away, as long as we don't find big pools of oil or anything under him this week after his long drive today:)

G'day The ho har's :)

First thing to check is the flexible hose to the rear diff, can't remember if it is the same as the military 2a,/clutch hose RTC3353, all those hoses have a habit of collapsing internally, blocking the fluid return and in the case of brakes, the shoes not returning :( for a further shake down trip, there is the Caboolture District Car Club swap Meet on Sunday at Alex Barr oval, directly behind the Caboolture Historic Village Caboolture, just up from Caboolture markets ;)

cheers

G'day The ho har's :)

I will be going to it and maybe Muddy, as he has threatened to come up, it is a good day with a large selection of display vehicles, and a lot of swap stuff, Rob Hay and I did it last year, usually Brian Hjelm is there with a stand, but he would be halfway across the Pacific by now headed for good ole US of A :D

I will be in the " Linus" tan RRC.

cheers
