Hi all

First off I'd like to say G'day to you all, I'm new to the forum and have been a d3 owner for about 6months. After months of looking, finally decided to purchase a 5 seater hse v8 due to a great price and very well kept vehicle.

Anyhow, I have just found out that my mrs is expecting our 4th child, so of course I am now looking everywhere for 3rd row seats, but am having a bit of trouble finding some.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or know of anyone who has removed some and would like to sell them? I'm after black leather seats...

Thanks guys:)

Hi Damo and welcome.

I also have a D3 5 seater. I did not think that I would ever need the extra seats as we only have 2 kids. There are the occasions however that having the extra seats would be very handy, and if I was to do it again I reckon I would have got the 7 seats.

Anyway, I have sort of looked into what is involved with getting the extra seats fitted. It is not a small job from what I can tell. That is if you could find a set available to purchase.

First difference is that my 2nd row of seats is a 60/40 type split folding when the 7 seaters seem to all have 35/30/35 or something similar (not sure why the difference). Next difference is that I have my jack and equipment in a compartment under the floor in the rear space. This would have to be removed and new mounting put into place inside the wing covers to house the jack and tow equipment. Then there is the addition of the seat belts (i assume that the mounting point would be available but not sure).

Anyway, it all seemed like too much work for the occasional use of the extra seats, so I forgot about it. I have not heard of anyone doing the modification because most D3s came out with the 7 seats already installed.

Cheers, Matt.

Hi
I have a third row set for a D4. They are ebony leather and have never been used. I fitted Black Widow drawers when I purchased the car. They are safely wrapped in a sheet hanging on the garage wall - wasting space!
Best bet would be to have a close look at some D4s to see what they look like and how they fit. It took me about 30 mins to pull them out including working out how.
Doug.

Gentlemen, please be aware there is no buying or selling in this (or any other) Forum, We have a MARKET place designed for that.

Also, clever use of the PM system may be an option,,,,

Sorry about that

I have tried to PM a few different users but I'm not sure if they've gone through. Is there any way to confirm? My sent messages show an empty folder so I'm not sure...

Hi pedro

Yeah I've called around a few local wreckers, pretty much all of them have said they very rarely get any d3's, so I've left some details with some of them in case something comes up, but I'm not holding my breath.:)

Perhaps I'm being a little impatient, so I'll take your advice and wait a couple of days. I was just worried that I was sending my PM's incorrectly and not having them go through...

If sent correctly a PM will show up in your sent item immediately,,,

When I pulled my rear seats out a few months ago I checked the going price with a wrecker in S.A. - they had a set and wanted $1600:00  - I sold mine to another member in W.A. for $700:00 (seats & belts) - he had no trouble fitting them into his vehicle - only a little tricky getting to the seat belt mount - a few skinned knuckles but he got there in the end.
cheers

Thanks Pedro... As I was not getting anything in my sent folder I had a play with the settings and I have now sent something through...
