Does anyone know how to get the mirrors on a D4 SE to fold in when locking the car and fold back out when unlocking? Mine was set up to do this when i got it but the other day one mirror was folded in manually (by unknown persons). Put the mirror back out and referred to handbook to get them to re-set but now they stick out all the time and don't fold at all.
I am about to have towing mirrors strapped to my Disco mirrors for the next three months and the fold away when locked feature is very useful in these circumstances. The handbook says that the dealer can set up the fold/unfold of mirrors upon locking but maybe some one on the forum can explain how to and hence avoid another trip to Dealer.

Needs to be done by the diagnostic computer to be able to talk to the CCF file to change the setting. I am pretty sure you can't do this by the settings function that you can set up via the steering wheel controls on the right hand side, but no harm trying.

As we have an answer can I do a little hyjack :o.
Thanks :)
My RRS does not have electric folding mirrors - the switch is there but nothing happens.
Not an issue up to now but I have finally got around to reorganising my garage to put the car in and it is a very tight spot with only cm to spare either side of the mirrors so if they folded that would be great.
I assume that the wiring etc is most likely in place but the mirrors do not have the motors. So anyone know what I need to get to upgrade to electrically folding mirrors - new mirrors or motors or is it all too hard.
Thanks

My D3 has the switch as well - and nothing happens as well - I'll be very interested in an answer to this one......

Disco3 has posts re upgrading and I do not think anyone has actually succeeded. I do not believe that it is a minor upgrade.

the swtiches are actuly diffrent,,, the wiring wont be there, plus if the car dident come from fact with the option we cant tern it on/off with SDD,,

so if it dident come with it you cant have it;) i guess if you realy wanted it buy some off a newer car that dose have em and just wire them in onto a septret switch,??? lota work tho,,,

But the mirrors were folding, so wouldn't it just be that they are temporarily out of sync somehow?

ISTR that doing something like switching both mirrors fully in then out again does the reset.

After posting the 'folding mirror' question last night, i left work and jumped in the car and after driving a couple of kays i noticed that the left mirror had folded in and was still in. Stopped and got out and went round and pushed mirror back into position. Got back in the car and went to adjust the mirror lens and hit the 'left' and right' mirror buttons at the same time - both mirrors folded in. Aha - did it again and presto - they folded out and now it's back to folding the mirrors when i lock/unlock. So, maybe it was me struggling to understand the handbook - thank god for a university education huh!
