CrossContact UHP 255/50 R20 - $750ea locally!!!!!!!!!! (US$289 tire-rack) With freight I'll still save $1500!:eek::eek::eek:

Nice tyres to drive on until they get a bit worn and then you can't keep the thing in a straight line due to 'tram tracking' 27 000k's. :(

I'm after a set that size.. best I can get Conti's here is $690

so freight is about 350 bucks to aus?

Thinking of going Nexon.. they seem to be an ok tyre. $288 each fitted at my local

Hmm... what to do

I am looking for some 20" rubber for my D4 now... I was thinking these tyres but that price is pretty scary.

As a guide I recently paid tirerack USD582 for freight on 6 tyres plus AUD313 for customs and quarantine charges (probably should have got two shipments of three each to stay under AUD1,000.)

Bloody hell,

I had a set of the CC UHP 18" as original on my D3 and they were great road tyres but did wear pretty quickly.

I did venture off road a few times on them and they went remarkably well but they did cut up, so at $750 each I would ensure make sure I had a second off road set if you intend doing any thing more than gravel roads.

I went with the CC A/T and have been very happy but that is in 18" not the 20".

Looks like tire rack is a pretty good option at that pricing.

George.

US$385 for freight for 4 tyres. Will be here in under a week. Because the total exceeds AUS$1000 I'll be stung for GST (if they feel like it, I've received plenty of mtb parts that exceed the threshold where customs didn't bother with the GST charge) and still come out at AUS$1585. So a week earlier and $1415 cheaper than I could do here in Sydney.

As far as a review of the tyres. They are great on road, suprisingly capable off road, and got chopped to death on the roads and tracks in the Flinders over Easter. Lasted 27 000k's.

Have now got some tyres coming for my 18" rims so this next set of CCs will be purely on road and might last a little longer.

I just booked my car in for a set of Nexons 255/50/20. Will be interesting to see the difference to the conti's I have on now.

Ended up getting the set for $1080 fitted.. (F1 Tyres Gold Coast)

Can't complain with that :D

Not for a D4 for for an X5, I ordered a set of(5) Contis from Tempe tyres on line and they were $495 each for 18 or 20's I can't remember now.
They last 30k km's max as will any performance tyre.
Bridgestones only last 20k km's on our utes.

I put Bridgestones on my SS a few years ago.. were like 400 each.. Don't think I even got 20,000 out of them.. very annoyed! then put cheapo Nankang's on and they lasted 45,000.

Reason why I'm going cheapo Nexon's. If I get 30,000 out of them I will be happy;)
