They have also built an armoured 130 D/C that has 745kg payload for the electricity company!
They must have enjoyable OH&S meetings/issues:eek:

700kg PLUS 5 adults in the cab!

as for OH&S...... i think getting shot at nullifies most normal OH&S guidelines.....

It would be interesting to see what would happen if some private person tried to import even a second hand one into this country, let alone try to register it :)

I know what you mean Uncleho.
In Paintball we have what are called Bounce Vests that take the sting out of shots that repeatedly hit certain tender areas repeatedly.
The Victorian Police have deemed them to be Body Armour as they are "designed to minimise the effects of a procectile fired from a firearm".
So Paintball Referees are not allowed to wear padding and female players can't use chest protection 'till the Legislative mess is sorted out.

G'day Hymie :)

That reminds me of an incident during the gun buyback in the 90's where somebody in Vic declared a WW11 vintage towed 4 wheeled Bofors gun an automatic weapon, and ordered it crushed :mad: Gee Wiz, can you see it being used to hold up a Macca's,

I wouldn't want a burger from there :D

G'day Hymie :)

Yeah! stupid isnt it, but there seems no shortage of hand guns and semi autos for those that want to shoot up houses/ cop shops, and holdups, we told the "smart ones" that this would happen, law abiding folk would be disarmed,(to suit the UN charter) and the criminal element would have open range :( but, no,they knew all the answers, and Martin Bryant was a crack shot

cheers

I think the powers that be would find some strong objections to having one here, assuming they knew what it was. At least it wouldn't get stumped by a kerb like the presidential limo.

A few years back while scouring a metal recycling scrap heap at the local steel merchants in Toowoomba (when I used to live up that way) I came across a whole pile of Iroquois (if that is how it is spelt) and blackhawk helicoptor parts from the base at Oakey, everything from alloy panels to miscelaneous mechanical parts and the crown jewel, a complete fully armour plated co pilots seat, ceramic armour plating still intact, webbing and padding still there, it had been cut out of the chopper with an oxy but a second damaged one had been correctly removed allowing the adjusters etc to be salvaged from it and fitted to the other seat. I loaded it and a pile of ally panels and id plates, etc etc onto a removal trolley (this thing must have weighed close to 100kg). So here I am thinking that there is no way they will sell it - lo and behold the guy says $30 and it's yours, so after wrestling it into the back of a daewoo matiz and driving home with the drivers seat as far forward as it went (normally have it right back) I washed it off, decided to sell it and put it in the paper. Got a "looker" who after inspecting it, pulled out army MP credentials and informed me it should never have been sold by the yard and was supposed to be crushed on arrival.

Bottom line, yard lost the disposal contract but I got to keep it (they weren't allowed to sell but legally as I had bought it they weren't under any jurisdiction to confiscate it because they had no power over a civillian), I was asked politely if I would ensure that I didn't sell it to just anyone and make sure it goes to someone with a proper purpose in mind. Ended up going to a collector/museum in Brisbane somewhere (for a greatly appreciated profit margin as they are worth an absolute fortune).

well with that defender there would be no point wasting money on full comprehensive insurance, nothing that hit you would stand a chance.
let us no if you start importing them, i think you would end up with a bulk order.:twisted::twisted:
