[Second edit] I still can't find it, do I just grab it and move it to where I want?
[Edit] It's all okay, I have found the owners manuals!!!
(Here (http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/content/document/view?id=61986¶meters=highlight%3DDocument%20search...))
I've looked at a couple of L322's to buy ('03/'04), I know how to work most things, but how do you adjust the internal rear view mirror? (please don't laugh too loudly!) I feel like such an idiot when I have to drive off with an incorrectly aimed mirror!
I know about the water in the rear section where the amplifier sits, the front diff/shaft recall, dead pixels, EAS, etc....but this mirror has me stumped!
I've looked everywhere for a owners manual, does anyone happen to have an electronic version, or know where I can download one from?
Ta,
Fraser

Nope. I have test driven 5 of these now, but never needed to adjust the rear view mirror, so I'm waiting for someone to share the secret, if there is one.

I'm beginning to wonder if you adjust the seat to suit the mirror?

G,day Fraser
I have just bought a MY06 RR Vogue Supercharged. I get the car in two weeks but when I test drover it, along with the other RRs I drover you adjust the rear view mirror by moving it by hand to the desired position. Hope this is of help.

They are photochromatic so they are auto dimming depending on following traffics head light glare. This is the only auto function on the internal rear view mirror.

Yep,
Right there as you look down your left arm you will find at the end of it a tool equipped with five digits. These digits can be manipulated to oppose each other and are used for a wide variety of tasks.
You may employ this tool (hereafter referred to as "hand") by extending the arm to within the vicinity of the mirror so that the hand may engage with the rear view mirror (hereafter referred to as "RVM") by a process called "grasping".
Having grasped the RVM with the hand you may now further manipulate the hand to move the RVM into a position which enables you to look toward the rear of the vehicle.
When this position of the RVM has been achieved the hand may be released from the RVM and returned to a resting state. It may then be further employed for other uses such as manipulating the gear selector mechanism or activating the radio. Further details on these procedures are available upon request.
Hope this helps.
Sorry, folks I just couldn't resist :D. Tongue firmly inserted into cheek there.
Cheers,
Iain

Thanks for that Iain.
:p
I guess with all the seat and mirror memories, I just presumed the RVM would also have a memmory setting, didn't want to break anything!

You're most welcome Fraser,
With all the bells and whistles these days it does indeed pay to be cautious.
I think the rear view mirror is one of those standard things that are always the same no matter what the vehicle. Like the clutch, brake, accelerator layout. It's the same in every car no matter LHD or RHD, the world over.
I'm sure there may be a few safety factors as well. If it does not have a motor it can't fail, type of thing. Also being inside the car, minimising it's weight would reduce the damage it might do to an occupant in an accident.
So there you have it. A $200K car and you still have to move the rear view mirror by hand! I suppose the chauffeur would do that anyway :p
Cheers,
Iain

If you are after the manuals. The RAVE discs are available in the Shop section of this site.
I also find this website useful.

Thanks Scott!
Now I really feel like a newbie!
The sooner I buy one of these the better, so I can start to post solutions!

Okay, it was a stupid question, I just overestimated the refinment of the RR and didn't want to break anything!!!!
I won't do it again, I promise!

Hope I didn't offend, it was all in good humor (mine was the diplomatic answer remember). Might I add the (as Im always saying to my employees) only stupid question is the question you don,t ask and then break something.
Again I hope you were not offended.

Okay, it was a stupid question,
Fraser there is not such thing as a stupid question - it is better to ask than sit and wonder what the answer is. I think all of us have at various times asked similar questions, so you are not alone.

Hey there Fraser,
What Gavin and Garry said. I used to teach (corporate stuff) years ago and often placed this on display during the sessions. It may be apocryphal but ....
"Ancient proverb says that it is better to appear a fool and ask a question than to remain silent and so remain a fool".
Of course when offering advice ....
"It is better to remain silent and appear a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"
They both sort of cancel one another out!
We've all asked/done something in our lives that was, in hindsight, truly daft. Well I have anyway. More times than I will admit too :p On my daft-o-meter your question barely registers by comparison to some of mine, and no, I will not elaborate.
No offense was intended in my earlier response. I am hoping a little fun was had without expense to your dignity.
Good luck in the hunt for the "chosen one" FFRR
Cheers,
Iain
