View Full Version : Disco 2 TD5 Vibration Damper Transfer case bolt keeps coming loose

I've got a 2001 Disco Td5 Auto. For the last few months the middle bolt on the vibration damper between the transfer case and the handbrake drum keeps coming loose and making the damper rattle. To being with I kept tightening up the bolt, and then final replaced it with a new one. For about a month it was okay, but it's now rattling again. Has anyone had a similar issue ? Is there any easy fix for it. Thanks in advance

I'm assuming you mean that useless thing that hangs off the rear diff, if yes, then throw it in the bin!!
Mine was removed to install a rear Maxidrive locker, I didn't know it was there until the guy told he had removed it, didn't notice any difference in the way the car felt.

Baz Not sure. It is actually bolted on to the transfer case, but the rear side of it. I believe the landrover part # is IAI100020.
it's number 26 in the diagram on this parts diagram
