Any advice for a novice??

My 99 freelander's fan preasure will not work when positioned on the 1 or 2 levels on the fan dial, 3, 4 and 5 work as normal, same situation with the air con. Is their a simple solution to this problem??

Any advice or comments would be much appreciated.:)

probably a dodgy fan speed controller.... climate control or standard aircon?

I guess the problem is in the switch itself, it's easy to remove it and see if it's dirty. A very quick try would be to spray some WD40 in it....

The numbers on the fan dial should be 0 to 4. 0 is off, 1 low 2 medium, 3 fast 4 full speed. Having the Air con on or off wont make any difference it runs the same fan. The problem with some settings working and some not will be the fan speed resistor, it is located under the dash left of the clutch pedal right next to the fan. It will have 1 plug with 4 wires and 2 screws attaching it to the housing. Very easy to replace.
