Hey guys just wandering if anyone would have an idea ...
Recently i took my defender 1999 td5 130 to Victoria and went through a fair bit of water I ended up ripping of my trailer conector ( dont know if this has caused a problem ) and after a while my lights went dim and my whinch wouldnt work , when I checked the fuses , fuse 8 was blown ( in front of gear stick , which said it was a fuse for immobiliser ) the car wouldn charge and I kept changing the fuse . When I got back to Syd I have fixed that trailer conection and everything now seems to be working , I am just wandering if this could of caused the problem or is it too much water and how do I find out for sure and how do I get rid of that issue if it is excess water causing it ?
My thaughts were ECU as well but I am not sure , any advice would be as good as any .... Thank you

I believe the alternator charge circuit runs off the brake light fuse, so you get a charging rate increase every time you use the brakes (free energy). Its supposed to save fuel but ends up being just a nuisance with trailer wiring faults.
