Hi all,
I am about to leave on our first O/S trip, we are not avid photographers like a lot of you guys (Derek leave me alone) but I have done a little study & have come up with the choice of these 2 cameras.
So my question to the wise & experienced is which would be a better camera?
As some of you are aware we had our camera stolen with a break in. I used to have Casio 4MP Exilim which I thought was a nifty sized little camera that did what had asked of it & made me look good.
So any info provided would be muchly appreciated.
Cheers

Pete, you need to wait, Nikon is bringing out the D4 and it will be a perfect match for your Land Rover D4 :p

Seriously though the two cameras aren't much different in specs. Canon's SX models have always been given a good wrap. I think it would come down to 2 things for me:
* Which feels better to hold and use.
* Which has a faster cycle time between shots and for turning power on.

The Canon G12 is an excellent higher end (and larger) compact and I've had a play with one as well as the Olympus XZ-1 which is also excellent. For a ruggedised camera the Panasonic model is the pick of them.

Don't forget about the TRS when buying the camera as you can get the GST back on your purchase (over $300) if made within 30 days of traveling overseas.

The best thing you can do though is buy the camera and have a good play with it before leaving.
