Hi, my d2a is starting to have some sort of a wine coming from the diff or something. It I'd bad at about the 80km/h mark but only when I almost back off the gas pedal... This is a hard one to explain... There is a millimeter difference between when You are accelerating and when you are completely off the gas, it's sort of no mans land... Anyway that's when this wine noise is at it's worst... When accelerating and braking no noise at all, just when in no mans land and only between 80km and 90 km.... Can anyone comprehend what I'm trying to say??? And of you can do you know where the noise might be coming from, and if I should get it looked at???

Cheers, any help appreciated.. As you can tell I'm no bush mechanic!!!

diff noise..

its the mesh on the crown wheel and pinion gone out of spec, typically due to wear on the pinion bearings or the flange/pinion nut working loose.

bout 1hr to fix the latter (remove prop shaft, tighten to spec, replace prop, test drive and repeat if its not quite right) at least triple that if its the bearings gone.
