I have just installed W7 and now the stupud computer will not play a photo dvd I burnde using xp. It says the disc is not set to be played in this region of the world.... B.S. i BURNED IT MYSELF.

What region is the DVDRom set to? region 4?

Open up device manager (windows key + R the type "mmc devmgmt.msc" in the RUN prompt) go to to your DVD properties.

Or you could just right click 'My Computer'....

not much help directly to you, but...

My son got the details of the make and model of the DVD drive in my computer and googled one of the hacking sites he knows and downloaded and ran a piece of software that made my computer DVD region free.

With a series of button presses on the remote control, he also made the DVD connected to the TV region free.

Sorry I can't give more details than that, but perhaps you can find some one who can do this for you.

Was going to suggest getting an app called "AnyDVD" to hack the dvdrom region.
But you've got it sorted now.
