Anyone know how good these are for touring? I'm thinking about using them in the camper canopy. Will they charge/condition the batteries well enough from the car alternator? Anyone had any experience with them?

that the way to go if you need to store/use a battery on your removable camper
i would use a dual battery isolator (traxide come to mind), and use an anderson plug for ease of disconnection from the vehicle when required
no different to any dual battery install..........

To clarify, I mean the Ark Powerpacks
DA10W - Powerpack | Powerpack | Battery Box | Products | Ark Corporation (http://www.arkcorp.com.au/Products/Battery-Box/Powerpack/DA10W-Powerpack/flypage-ask.tpl.html)
Would they do away with the need for a CTek type charger?

are you running dual batteries in the defer?, if so i dont reckon you need the box with the charger in it........how much are they?
if you have a dual battery setup i would tag onto it using the cheaper box. my dad run the basic box in his falcon station wagon using an anderson plug hooked uo to his dual battery system
