Im in the process of putting everything back together on my 86 County (Isuzu) and for the life of me cannot remember what this is and where it goes.

No it doesn't. But that's because it has been removed, along with the gear box and engine that all getting rebuilt.

if it's not off the h/brake, it does look like a door stay. I haven't had an early 110, but it looks like it could be an early adjustable version of the later fixed type ones. - Just a guess.

This is the tie rod that holds the steering column to the firewall.

It looks like a tie-rod from the steering assy - would be my guess...
