Greetings
Had a new fuel pump fitted to my 02 110 two weeks ago as the old one died, new injector loom harness at the same time.
Off to sunny Puckapunyal for course, car bit sluggish on the way down and used a lot more fuel than usual.
Today one of the lines from the filter, red protective cover on it, started ****ing fuel out and the pump is noisy on turning the ignition on? I have cleaned the QD and all looks good and locks home well?
The car still struggles to hold a hundred, pump pretty noisy on start up but car idles fine.
I have searched the threads and not found a similar problem - anyone able to give any suggestions as I am currently in the mess car park but need to drive back to act on Friday to have a chat with the mechanic and his apprentice!
Cheers

Was the new pump an OE (VDO I believe) or a pattern one from UK?
My 04 TD5 has been having a bitch of a time starting, and given the age and K's (130k) and with a Perth-Karratha-Meeka-Perth road trip looming, I bit the bullet with new pump. The fault felt like there wasn't a head of fuel in the system.
Local LR specialist was none too complimentary about the pattern type. Anyway, I changed the pump. Old pump was encrusted with sediment on the filter screens.
Bus still struggled to start at times but made Karratha ok.....then the main battery died. With new battery, starting improved, but still an odd power loss at top end, which to me sounds filter (fuel starvation)......which was changed at the service before the road trip (and clutch, and drive adapters and rear drive shafts...). But I was towing a small popup caravan into strong winds....so fuel burn was much higher anyway.
I have bled the filter with nothing but crisp green bowser diesel...given half a chance I might change that again.
In the meantime I hope the 110 is back in action, and Mess carparks were designed for miscreant lodgers conducting car maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.....as only a chosen few wangle carports or garages....

Your not wrong about the mess carparks!!!
Mate helped me lowe the tank and check all of the connections etc, one of the lines was loose as buggery. Have spoken to the guys at AMV and got it booked in for next week - they reckon that the new pump is dodgy or that it has not been sealed correctly and sucking in air somewhere.
Ah well now I get to extend my stay down in sunny melbourne and catch up with the folks until car is repaired, limped it here at eighty kays an hour this afternoon!!!
