Hey all just traded in the 2010 defender 110 for a new disco 4...cant wait till September when it arrives. Is there any specific things i needs to ask the dealer to do pre-delivery to make sure I get the most up to date disco 4, i.e like update the nav

Congrats mate.

Tell 'em to stick the standard tyres in the bin and fit something better.

The Wranglers are very expensive and I'm sure you could get a much better tyre, regardless of type, for the money.

Which model?

Cheers,

Kev.

chriswall001,

congrats, you will enjoy the difference, chalk and cheese !

I am not a D4 own but happy with my 2009 D3.

I trust you ticked the box for the e-diff, if not ring and do it as it is a $1,000 option that is very worthwhile and make the vehicle even more capable off road.

Did you go the 2.7 or the 3.0 ?. Tyre options for the 2.7 with 18in rims are a bit wider and you can also get 17in rims if you real want. The 3.0 is slightly limited in that it is 19in rims only and the tyre options are more limited and pretty bloody expensive.

From all reports the GPS and Nav in the D4 is pretty ordinary and very expensive to update, there are a few posts on that topic, if this was an option you choose might be better to swap it for the e-diff (as above) and get an aftermarket GPS.

Have wade through the site, there was a bit of an issue with a few of the early 3.0lt twin turbos getting some sort of blockage and blowing blue smoke but this should be sorted on the new models.

Other than that get ready to smile, a lot.
