Well after six weeks and three days at the dealers at 0730hrs tomorrow I will see my SVX again at last. I got back from my trip north with a recall re oil leak, it needed a service, the egr was goosed and it had dust entry. All Defender optional extras, no big deal. Number one son picked a small bubble in the paint, rust LH lower corner of the windscreen so I brought this to the dealers attention. Despite many contacts with L.R. by the dealer the go ahead for repair took almost four weeks. I emailed L.R directly stating my concers and sighting reports on D2 land Rover site in the U.K. re rust in that area only to recieve a **** poor email stating the claim was progressing. I am glad I don't need this vehicle as my every day transport. This was not the fault of the dealer and they could not have been more helpful, Very slack Land Rover.

Hey Allan,

I had the dealer rectify the same rust spots and the bottom corners of my windscreen a couple of weeks ago. They took it to private panel shop and repairs looks real good, but only time will tell.

They are still chasing water leaks, they have had it for a total of 13 weeks over 4 visits, this Friday.

I have been advised by LR Australia that they are extremely confident that they have fixed all the leaks this time......:o

Hi Drover, same deal with the rust repair as yours. I collected it this morning after all this time, took it home and as usual checked under and over it. They have left a cowling clip off on the radiator, busted my bonnet stay clip, the alarm switch under the bonnet was not working so horn blew when arming and all my radio stations were gone. They also forgot to re tint my rear window after replacing it, all not good, took it back to the dealers to find they need to order the clips ex east. I know I will be glad when warranty is over so I can service this myself. I hope they do get yours right this time, thats a long time without your vehicle. Perhaps we should charge them rental fees:).

Well....

The knuckle heads must have had the bonnet lifted all the way back and managed to dislocate the passengers side hinge...then slammed the bonnet shut, end result 35min trying to gentle persuade the bonnet to open.....

Found a large rubber grommet on the front radiator support...had a look around found that it was from the side on the metal box that support the brake master cylinder....

Car was left with penal beaters dust through out....

I suggested to LR Aus that my warranty needs to be extended by the same time that they have it in the shop for.....they are going to get back me on that one.

It is continuous and on going, but nothing I can’t handle;)

It's just wrong. Land Rover need to take a long hard look at themselves. This is without doubt one of the best 4x4's around but quality control and very poor service lets it down. It needs a production manager like Jaguar got when it was in the ****. It's very poor when you think your service record is better filled in by you than the dealer. The other thing that reeeeeeeeely ****s me is my wifes TD5 just keeps on going:(.

My 40K service is due soon and guess what.......rust bubbles around the bottom of my winscreen too. :(

Will be interesting to see if this gets approved but now I have 2 fellow SVX owners that I can point to with the same issue being repaired.

It seems a common fault on the Puma. The U.K. D2 site have numerous posting re windscreen frame rust. Good luck with your claim.

6 year corrosion protection is a perforation warranty.
The corrosion must come all the way though!
And, make sure you get the required inspections (often not mentioned) to maintain this warranty.

They fixed the rust after a long battle. I don't think the dealers even look for rust/body problems unless the owner sights them. I am luckey my son used to be a panel beater, picked it miles away.
