G'day fellas,
I was up late and bored... Have a look at this website if you like the thought of a 2.7l V6 turbo diesel in your P38! Even has a 6minute youtube video. I'm not sure if anyone has seen this before, but a quick search on AULRO couldn't find me any results so I thought i'd put it up.

I recieved an email from the people who do this conversion...
Anyone interested should get July 2011 issue of LRO Magazine... There is a write-up in there! I must have stumbled upon this conversion as it went to press :-) or you could just read the attachment!
Imagine a P38 with a 3.0 twin turbo diesel (or a 4.4 twin turbo from the new rangie)...
Cheers

Brake upgrade needed?????????
It would be nice but the cost of the conversion would be as much as getting an L322.
For those who love their 38s i guess no expense will be spared.

Now I'm going to have difficulty sleeping... damn! Wonder if they'll work out how to transplant a complete drive train ...5/6sp gearbox. The again, at 90-100kmh in the 4sp HP24 with the engine @approx 2200 rpm... right on max torque the pickup for highway driving would be most enjoyable!!
Hmmm....

I suppose we could jump up a size or two in tyres or change the final drive gearing to bring those revs down! I reckon a 3.0 twin turbo would be very happy at about 1800rpm at 100k's! With the 255/70 tyres my highway revs are down to about 2100rpm now! I think I could still get away with another size increase and not need to change the gearing in the rangie...

Has anyone thought about importing a 2004 Disco frontcut from Japan and using the english guys to provide the conversion kit. That should be a lot less than an L322
