G'day all,

I finally decided to buy my self a 98 Defender 110 - 300Tdi.

I just wanted to ask about lubricants, what do you recomend as i am still tracking down a Workshop Manual For it.

1. Engine Oil ....?

2. Coolant....?

3. Gearbox Oil....?

4. Transfer Case Oil....?

5. Swivel Hubs & Front and Rear Diff....?

6. Brake Fluid, i think i saw dot 4 on the lid. also the fluid looks clearish?

7. What type of grease for the uni joints etc.

Full Defender 300tdi workshop manual is available on the web. Free download. I just googled 'Defender 300tdi workshop manual' and up it came.

p.s. Does Spudboy have shares in Castrol?

Penrite oil is the go,extra cool gold coolant,Redline MTL for the R380,any good gear oil for T/C and Diff's,LR's swivel pin grease for the swivels and hubs. Pat

Haha - I wish. That's just because my Defender manual has all the Castrol products listed and it was easy to get it from their lookup site, and it is the recommended oil by Land Rover.

I mostly use Penrite.
