Found this series 2 just around the corner chassis number 143100617 couldn't resist the temptation. Its was a soft top just the iron sheets are pop riveted to the hood sticks.Still has the 2.25 petrol.

Looks like a nice find. Howw nice depends on how much rust. It does not look to have been knocked about a lot, though. And an original jack?

I haven't really looked for all the bits yet.The chassis seems ok at the moment I need to give it a good clean. As for the firewall theres a little bit on the footwalls but its nothing i can't fix.

Got it going this afternoon, all it needed was a bit of fuel in the tank then it started after a few turns.Although the idle was a bit rough and a few water leaks.Besides that it sounded pretty good and hardly any smoke:).Cant drive it yet though no clutch and no brakes.:(

Nice :D 143100617 is the 616th RHStg CKD vehicle for the 1961 year model and fitted with the 2.25 engine :D and it is very complete with a lot of original tools, that screw bottle jack was also a Landrover supplied item in the later years of 2a's (aka Holden jack);)

Your indicator switch and the lamps themselves, look like after-market ones to me, which might mean that the car was made before indicators were required by law. What is the build-date of the car?
The switches in the back might be to turn on the rear tail-lights from outside the car - this was a strange requirement in some States - trace the wiring and see where it goes,

Been a while since i did an update.Been busy with the 109' and the defender. So far a new water pump and a good second hand radiator plus all new hoses and more cleaning and still more cleaning to do.
I recently found out it was first owned by the Electricity Commission of NSW.

Nice pickup. Some time ago I had a Series 2a SWB hardtop ute (a Plus 35). It also was ex-ECNSW, and had a capstan winch. It was last seen, unregistered, in the Lithgow area. Let me know if you can't control your acquisitive urge, and I'll provide some details.

Are you planning on keeping it a soft-top? If not, we're chasing down some hoops for our S2a that came with a hard top.
Cheers!
