View Full Version : PUMA Radiator Leak

I'm just in the process of removing the radiator after a leak caused by the bottom shroud rubbing through one of the radiator tubes. Looks like one of the spacer blocks is missing...maybe from assembly. I recommend others check that the lower shroud isn't touching in their Pumas.
Anyway, is repair of aluminium radiator core tubes routine (for radiator shops)? How do they repair it?

Hi Brid,

On most occasions the damaged section of the tube is removed and each end of that tubed is then sealed with solder or alike.

The radiator will perform fine and you wont even notice.

(You might as well chuck up graded intercooler while the radiator is out. :wasntme:)

Good luck

Thanks Drover
Do you think it would be just as easy to lay some solder across the worn section of tube, since there will be such a small perforation?
I'll take a photo tomorrow of where the problem is. Can anyone direct me to a "how to attach a photo" please?

Sound's harder than it is -
1/ Create ” Photo bucket “ account (www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com/)) if you don’t already have one.
2/ Reduce pixels of image to emails size
3/ Up load image to photo bucket. (Follow links)
4/ Copy and paste image code (IMG CODE) to your thread.
(Image code can be found by holding curser on the image and watch for drop box to appear, then look for "IMG CODE")
