View Full Version : Options for dented tailgate?

My 110 wagon is at the sprayers at the moment, but the rear tailgate seems a little beyond panel beating. Looks to have been reversed into something with the spare in place, judging by the shape of the dent once I took the spare off! Also seems to have bent the frame slightly, and the aluminium skin wasn't in the best condition to begin with having the usual corrosion.

What are my options? Can you get skins for them the same as the front and rear doors, and if so are they relatively easy to fit?

I reckon a s/h door is going to be both near impossible to get and way too expensive, but if anyone knows of one please let me know!

Thanks!

Well, a bit of Googling showed you can get a skin, and it seems a pretty simple fit.

Found one in the UK, only £20, but a further £45 to post! :(

Anyone know a local source that will have stock?

Try British Motor Importers at Mulgrave. They might be able to get you one from the UK.They usually take a couple of weeks to get stuff from the UK.
