Finally 6 weeks after her illness the D3 has come home with a young transplanted heart.
Runs like a dream, certainly a lot more power than she had, the new motor has done less than 20,000 k's and has a new turbocharger replacing the old one that was worn out at 118000 k's !!!.................
I will take it easy for a couple of weeks and then see how she goes off road............
No pics as I can't upload, may be to do with the site problems.

Hey Richard, Glad to hear that everythings up and running again and I hope you get many more happy miles out of her. May I ask what the final damage bill was? Did landrover Australia come to the party at all in paying for the repairs and if not {which I suspect will be the case} what was their answer to your question about reasonable expectation of life expectancy?
 Happy travels mate

Yes, I was wondering that also.

Hi there Richard,
Glad to hear the old girl is back with you and that with a new ticker and all. I hope it didn't break the bank. Now that you are mobile again, are you thinking of joining us for the WA-AULROian Family Fun Day? Hope you are, it would be good to see you again. Have a look in the Tracks, Trips & Schedules section to see some of the fun we had at setting the stages up. The photos will be in the WA Report section along with some video footage of the stages.
I hope your D3-Up-Grade will give you lots of trouble free miles of pleasure.
Cheers, Jurgens.

Hi Jurgens,
Well I had it for 2 days then had problems with the ECU, couldn't clearb the fault with the Autologic or the Blackbox, the Ediff motor had seized and that has relayed throughout the system thus not allowing the ECU to communicate properly with the transmission/suspension/ABS/TC/DSC at infinitem....... so hopefully when that is sorted on Wednesday I can have it back and give my much depleted bank account a rest:(
Must admit the events over the past 6 weeks have been my worst experiences with a vehicle of any sort and have shaken my belief in LR and LRA
