In my owners manual it shows the aux socket in the stereo for using an ipod but mine has nothing but a blank hole.Is the stereo supposed to have the socket?. Pat

Don't know about your new 'special' Pat, but AUX socket is not standard in Australia nor the UK. Usual option is to upgrade the whole CD/radio but I haven't bothered. While talking about the standard radio, it does not come set for Asia/Pacific (or similar) and while the dealer should adjust your radio for this they seldom do. It makes a huge difference to your reception, especially in more remote locations. It is easy to do and instructions will be in your documentation.

In the UK the aux plug in the stereo is only standard on XS model Defenders. My 2009 110 CSW XS had it as standard, however the radio is crap and soon upgraded it to an Alpine unit.
