I want to mount the bosses lap top to the passenger side dash on the Puma to be able to take advantage of the garmen gps ect. Does anyone know of a mounting system or is it build your own?

None that I'm aware of.

I use my iPad for all my 4x4 nav - it's awesome.

I've just acquired an iPad bracket for my car (PadHoldr.com) - could be a nice expensive option...

Try RAM Mounts - RAM - mount anything to anything (http://www.gpsoz.com.au/ram/index.htm)

I've used them to mount Garmin GPS and Panasonic Toughbook in Defender - very good quality and a large variety of configurations available.

If you go RAM type mount, make sure it is a bolt up type, not the suction cup type. My GPS spends more time on the floor.

Hi Allan,

Here is a link to defender2 on ipad mounts. You might get some ideas for your lap top.

Cheers

Alex,

iPad is an Apple product is it not? I have just purchased a HEMA HN5i which does not play with Apple. What do you use?

I'm using an earlier version of this:

Hey mate,

It most certainly is. There is a decent variety of iPad nav apps out there. I use Pathaway Ex which I have loaded the HEMA Great Desert Tracks and the Simpson maps into no worries.

A bit of file conversion is necessary though...

Alex, how do you go using it outside built up areas with no 3g signal?
