Access to the electronic park brake manual release cable in the D4 is different to that in the D3 and is not mentioned in the manual.

Take out the cup inserts in the centre console drink holder.
Pull the drink holder up. It is held in by 4 clips and takes some effort.
Underneath this is the water shield.

Remove the two Phillips head screws (screw driver should be in the jack tool kit) to expose the manual release cable.

Had my park brake partially stay on yesterday and had to release it with the cable. It came up with all the bells and flashing lights on the dash.
Didn't use the park brake again until I forgot and used it. To my surprise, it had corrected itself.
Funny thing is that it happened again today in almost exactly the same loacation (on a downhill slope). This time it released itself somehow without me having to pull on the cable.
Getting LR to check it out next week.
Cheers, Craig

Searched without success.
Any info on accessing Park brake release on 2006 RRS?
Ive pulled the cover in front of the EPB swith and the loop is not visible.
Does the 2006 have the loop hidden somewhere else inside the console and how do you access the loop?

Thanks for that:BigThumb:.

I am glad it wasn't just me who couldn't find it in the manual.

The loop is there - just much deeper down in the console.

In the meantime I did a bit more research

Found this in Topix (RRS 206-05 Parking brake and actuation- Description and Operation)
"In the center console, a pull ring is installed on the end of the inner cable. The pull ring is designed to fit the hook on the end of the jack handle which, in combination with a
screwdriver shaft, can be used to pull on the cable. The pull ring can be accessed by removing a circular panel in the bottom of the center console cupholders, on left-hand drive
(LHD) vehicles, or by removing the parking brake switch on right-hand drive (RHD) vehicles."

I removed the switch as well as the cover and the loop is visible deep down in the console

I took some pics and will post them soon
