Doug, I discussed this with ARB and the two eyelits on the bottom of your ARB bar are a recovery point, it was recomended that recovery is done from both pionts.

Check with ARB if you want confirmation ask for Dave at the Nundah office, he is a very helpful guy.

The bar on that defender is not an arb. It's the factory extreme one.

Actually I think I might be getting my bars confused, I am thinking of the one on your red rangie.

So back to Greg from Outcast I would suggest

I just rang Sam from ARB Nundah regarding the front "recovery points" on my Defender. He said they were not for recovery but for towing on the blacktop or up onto a tow vehicle. He said there were not too many options for the front of most "modern" 4x4's.

So I rang MR Auto, they have front recovery points maxi drive "tow hooks" (http://www.mrautomotive.com.au/images/maxi7.jpg) which they said should be used in conjunction with a equalizer strap (http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/RIDGE-RYDER-8-000KG-EQUALIZER-STRAP.aspx?pid=218850).

Hope this helps, it's what I will be doing tomorrow as we leave for the Cape on Friday!
