View Full Version : ABS / TC lights on. D110 TD5 ??

Guys my TC and ABS lights have come on, and stay on on my 2006 TD5.

I've done a search on here and subsequently jacked each wheel up in turn and engaged 1st gear.

Each rear wheel spinning results in the speedo registering approx 20kph.

Neither of the front wheels move the speedo at all:confused:

Does this mean that both front wheel sensors are stuffed, or something else.

I have a Faultmate MSV2 but don't have the ABS module!

Any ideas?

Perhaps I should add that the lights came on half way along the CSR, so after a LOT of corrugations.

I can also confirm ABS is no longer working!

Thoughts & suggestions please.

Thx
Jon

Have you checked the wheel bearings as they do slacken off and push the sensors out enough that they stop reading the wheel speed. Pat

It's probably a technical computer glitch.

My defender (also 2006 Td5) had the same thing happen on the Madigan Line and was fixed by the friendly Land Rover Techs in Birdsville.:D Lights came on and ABS and TC no longer worked.

That was 3 years ago and no problem since.

Thanks Pat. I'll have a check on that this afternoon.

Pull the front sensors out and reseat them by knocking them down by hand with a large screw driver.
If you clear the faults and wriggle the front cables one by one does the activator engage if so you probably have faulty front sensors cables.

Ok, jacked each wheel up and felt for any play in the wheel - all feels fine.

With regards to the suggestion of "pulling out the sensors", Ive checked Rave and that suggests "prising them out". Am I correct in thinking they simply push into the hub assembly, thus I can pull them straight up and out??

Thx
